FROM THE PASTOR
March 17, 2020
Dear Kingsland Church Family,
Over the last several weeks our nation has found itself facing an unprecedented worldwide health crisis. The staff and church council have been closely monitoring developments with the Coronavirus.
Yesterday we received an e-mail from Bishop Bryant asking that we suspend-in-person worship services and activities through at least the end of March. We will be following that request. An e-mail detailing the request of the Bishop as well as a text received from the District Superintendent has been sent to the members of the Church Council. This morning the Church staff met to review what has been done and to formulate a plan for what will be done as we navigate uncharted territory together.
This coming Sunday morning we will be presenting a prerecorded pastoral message at 10:30 AM. We are presently looking at live streaming worship for the following week. This is our tentative plan moving forward. If you know of someone who does not have e-mail or social media, please have them contact our church office by phone, (912) 729-5445 ext. 1.
At present, our Food Pantry will remain open during the regularly scheduled days and times (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9AM to 12PM). Food Pantry volunteers will greet clients outside, or at their vehicle, in order to minister to them with food, clothing, prayer, etc.
Make sure that you follow us on social media accounts as well as our website. Our web address is: kingslandfirstumc.org, our facebook page is: Kingsland First UMC. Here you can access information, audio of our worship services, etc.
At present everyone is having to practice social distancing. But we want to stay in touch! We love you and are here for you! The words of the Apostle Paul speak to our hearts, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Do not be swept up in a whirlwind of worry, but pray. Pray about everything. Thank God for what he has done and will do. May the unsurpassed peace that comes from God keep our hearts and minds as we walk together in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7).
